rain rain go away...

It's been windy and rainy all week.

We've been stuck inside.

So we craft and play.

Started the day off with rainbow pancakes:

And a rainbow craft for our St. Patty's Day decor:
We're ready for rainbows and sunny skies!

letter {Rr}

We made a robot and worked on our letter {Rr} last week. I'm surprised at how much Kolo's handwriting has improved in such a short amount of time. His favorite part of school is arts and crafts time. Probably cause he gets to make "new toys."

His new toy today: Robbie the robot. Even thought it looks more like a monster. But it's a robot.

Ahoy Matey

Last year I bought a few Halloween costumes that were on clearance for a dollar at Walmart. They've been a hit! Can you tell we've been watching Peter Pan? Kolo got out the pirate costume so he could be Hook.

A pirates gotta have a ship. We found a big box, attached a flag, and used and empty t.p. roll for a telescope. Kolo was in heaven. Aarghh...

Claws

Have I mentioned how much Kolo loves dinosaurs?

We've been making dino claws and pretending to be dinosaurs for months now. When we go out in public Kolo doesn't walk like a normal little boy. He walks like a sneaky velociraptor with his arms up to his chest and his "claws" out.

Kolo's favorite dinosaur [this week] is the iguanodon. They have ten claws unless you ask Kolo and he'll tell you "they have eight claws and two spikes cause the thumbs are spikes not claws." Kolo knows his dinosaurs!

Iguandon Kolo:

Instructions for claws found here.

Tub time

We cut a bunch of shapes out of craft foam and stuck them to the walls for bath time tonight. I saw it on a blog and thought it looked fun.

The kids loved it! Easy and cheap entertainment!

Dino book - V

Kolo is in love with dinosaurs right now. We talk about dinosaurs daily - what they eat, what they're scared of, how big they are, how many claws they have...

On Tuesday we went to the library and filled our bags full of books about dinosaurs so we could learn more. And mostly because I don't know the answers to all his questions and have started making stuff up. Not good. Now we can start learning the right answers.

I printed up a bunch of dinosaur pictures for Kolo to color and a fact page so we could write down the basics as we study them.

Here's his first page. V is for velociraptor:
